Trainee Volunteer Lock-Keeper (Limehouse Lock)

Join the Inner London team as a Volunteer Lock Keeper at Limehouse Lock, a mechanical tidal lock operating from 7am-7pm. Be part of a dedicated team that keeps this historic lock running smoothly while creating a welcoming experience for boaters and visitors.

What You’ll Do:

Assist boaters through the lock, ensuring safe and efficient passage. Operate the Narrow Street Bridge when required. Maintain the surrounding area with tasks like painting, vegetation clearing, and litter picking. Provide a friendly welcome to visitors and share knowledge about the waterways.

What We’re Looking For:

Enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a friendly attitude. Availability for at least one day a week from April to October Volunteers must be 18+ and ideally local to Limehouse.
