Conservation Volunteer (Tees Barrage Seal Survey)

Can you help us to monitor the number of seals at the Tees Barrage?

The Canal & River Trust are working with Industries Nature Conservation Association (INCA) to monitor seal numbers at the Tees Barrage and their feeding habits. Volunteers will record the numbers of seals, the species, and the feeding behaviour during high tide times, for one hour.

The survey will need carrying out for 1 hour once a day at various times, depending on the tide. Some surveys are early in the morning, some in the middle of the day and others during the evening. Ideally volunteers will be able to complete at least one survey a week between June and October.

Volunteers will need to be available for a training session on Friday 15th May at 12.30am at the Barrage.
