Lead Volunteer (Invasive Species, Pennywort - Sefton)
Help protect our waterways by taking a leading role in tackling invasive species. As a Lead Volunteer, you’ll receive training to confidently identify and safely remove floating pennywort, a fast-growing plant that threatens local ecosystems and impacts our waterways. You’ll support and guide volunteers and community groups, showing them how to carry out removal safely and effectively.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and nature and wants to make a visible difference. You’ll also act as an ambassador for our waterways, promoting good biosecurity practices to help prevent the spread of invasive species and keep our canals healthy for everyone. We are looking for people to champion care for our waterways!
Full training is provided and due to the focus of this lead role being on removing invasives from the water there may be opportunity to take part in and undergo training relating to paddle sport activity.
This role would best suit someone who has availability during the week, either weekly or fortnightly.
