Conservation Volunteer (Wolverhampton Conservation Team)
Thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers the canals through Wolverhampton are becoming more inviting every week!
There is still however a lot more we can do. We now have access to regular use of a workboat, so we can get to places we couldn't previously reach, and there are some stretches that do need more regular attention.
We are hoping to get our boat out most Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is specific autumn and winter work, so you will need to be ready to face the weather.
Work will include cutting back vegetation and removing litter (and larger items) from the water.
We have a really friendly team, and they will all tell you how rewarding the work is. We will invite you in the first instance to join us on one of our existing Monday or Wednesday sessions just to see if you like us and the work we do, and then expect the new sessions to be up and running late September/Early October.
