Conservation Volunteer (Marsden flight maintenance)

Opportunity image

Join us today to become a Conservator Volunteer and help to maintain the Marsden lock flight.

This role will involve a wide range of activities to ensure that boats can move up and down the Marsden flight (lock 42E - lock 31E) and also ensure that water levels can be maintained. This includes vegetation management, using hand tools and power tools (strimmer's, trimmers, mowers) to clear the bywashes, the washwalls, the lock landings and the lock chambers. The locks themselves require regular maintenance including painting, greasing and masonry repairs.

This project will operate from our Marsden compound and take place on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 - 12:00.
