Towpath Team Volunteer (Cycle Safety Pontymoile)

Join us and work as part of a team with our Bike Library Hub at the Pontymoile Basin.

In collaboration with Changing Gearz, part of the Garnsychan Partnership based at Circulate in Blaenavon, and Active Travel Torfaen we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist in the provision of bikes for hire at the canal basin.

This project is an extension of the Bike Library already in operation at Circulate, Blaenavon and will allow the public to hire bikes from Pontymoile for free. You will be helping to maintain the safety of the bikes that are hired out and ensuring that they are in working order.

Full training will be provided for the role by the Garnsychan Partnership through a British Cycling training course.

Skills Needed:

• an interest in bike maintenance
• the ability to complete task checklists and keep accurate records
• an enjoyment of the outdoors
• the ability to work as a team

What you will get out of it:

• a two day training course free of charge
• additional support from the Changing Gearz team
• a chance to make new friends
• the opportunity to help make our local towpaths a happy safe environment

If you enjoy cycling or maybe you just enjoy fixing things, please apply to come and join our team in Pontymoile
