Conservation Volunteer (Citizen Science Project Pontymoile)
Do you love our canals and nature? Do you enjoy being outdoors? Do you want to see improvements to our local canals and rivers and the surrounding green spaces?
We are looking to welcome volunteers to join our Citizen Science Project based in Pontymoile.
We will work together on specific projects looking to monitor and record the habitat availability for particular species, the populations present and environmental factors that may effect the abundance of nature.
This role would involve meeting up once or twice each month along with like-minded individuals and volunteers for around 1-2 hours to collect data and evidence or put in place environmental improvements designed to improve habitat availability.
Whether it’s working on pre-planned maintenance cutting back vegetation around aqueducts, or tackling graffiti in our more urban locations, our Conservators do a fantastic job of making sure there’s plenty of beauty on the doorstep. This is a great opportunity to make a huge difference in your community whilst learning more about the canals in your area.
