Conservation Volunteer (Grounds Maintenance, National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port)
Join us today to become a Conservator Volunteer and be part of the team keeping history alive by preserving our waterways. With its stunning location on the banks of the Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal, extensive indoor displays and historic buildings, the National Waterways Museum is a great place to volunteer, where time slows down and history comes to life. The National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port has a fantastic collection of boats, buildings, outdoor spaces and much more. Our dedicated grounds maintenance team help with the upkeep and care of this destination heritage attraction site, filled with historic grade 2 listed buildings and beautiful grounds.
Whether it’s mowing, strimming, cutting back vegetation, gathering up aquatic weeds or helping behind the scenes, you'll be supporting this bustling visitor attraction. Conservators do a fantastic job of making sure there’s plenty of beauty and heritage for all to enjoy. This is a great opportunity to make a huge difference in your community whilst learning more about the history of the waterways.
Previous experience is not required, although if you have experience in horticulture, landscaping or arboristry, we would certainly love to hear from you. This is an ongoing role, although we aim to be as flexible as possible with the time that you can give. Our busy periods are holidays and the summer time.
