Education Volunteer (STEM - East London)
New STEM Education Volunteer - Various locations in East London available including Stratford, Docklands and Tottenham.
Whether you have a STEM background or want to gain experience in STEM learning and working with young people - the STEM Volunteer role allows you to develop new skills and positively influence the futures of London's young people.
Volunteers can choose from the following options: • Support with secondary school canal visits • Support with in-person school assemblies • Support our August Climate Action Week • Support with marketing such as delivering leaflets to local schools
We give you full training and provide resources for supporting school group visits, including training days and team meetings. You will have the support of the London STEM Lead as well as the other volunteers in your team.
You will need to be able to volunteer flexibly to respond to visit requests, committing to two or more activities a month (usually during school hours and term time). All travel costs are reimbursed.
This role involves regulated activity with children and adults at risk, as defined by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Therefore, an Enhanced Criminal Record check will be undertaken, and references will be sought. A criminal record is not necessarily a bar to volunteering with us.
