Conservation Volunteer (Brent Litter-Picking Lead)

Are you passionate about keeping Brent’s canals clean and vibrant?

We’re looking for a local, dedicated volunteer to lead a small litter picking group in along the Canals in Brent. This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity built around your schedule to make a noticable difference in your community keeping our waterways beautiful, litter-free, and fostering pride in the community.

This is a great role for someone who is passionate about the environment, enjoys working with others, and wants to make a positive impact in their local community.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Group: Provide safety briefings, ensure proper equipment use, and monitor the group
  • Engage and Motivate Volunteers: encouraging a friendly and inclusive atmosphere
  • Coordinate Equipment: Ensure litter picking tools are used correctly and well-maintained, requesting new equipment when needed
  • Report Progress: Track the amount of litter collected and any issues during the event.
  • Attend our Meet & Greet Session on Thursday 6, February at 2pm (alternative dates available) and meet the team! Afterward, join a training session (location and date TBC).

What We’re Looking For:

  • Local to Brent: A connection to the local community and a love for the space
  • Leadership Skills: Comfortable leading and motivating a small group.
  • Reliable and Responsible: Punctual and committed to scheduled events with a willingness to be outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Good Communication: Able to guide volunteers and work well with a diverse group of people
