STEM Education Volunteer - London (various)
Whether you have a STEM background or want to gain experience in STEM and conservation - the STEM Volunteer role allows you to develop new skills and positively influence the futures of London's young people. Once applying, you will have a one-to-one online meeting to learn more about our work. We will suggest opportunities that will aid your development and support your skills. You can choose your hours, volunteer locations, sessions, workshops and events. All travel costs are reimbursed.
Examples of opportunities include:
- Supporting/leading secondary/sixth-form waterside visits
- Supporting/leading in-person school assemblies/workshops
- Supporting/developing public ticketed events
- GIS support, fieldwork and workshop development
- Delivering remote webinars
- Supporting/leading sixth-form conservation volunteering
- Marketing sessions to secondary schools and sixth-forms
You will be provided full training and resources for supporting the sessions, including training days and team meetings. You will have the support of the London STEM Lead as well as the other volunteers in your team.
This role involves regulated activity with children and adults at risk, as defined by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Therefore, an Enhanced Criminal Record check will be undertaken, and references will be sought. A criminal record is not necessarily a bar to volunteering with us.
