Supporting Volunteer (Investigating Discharges into the Canal)

The Canal & River Trust is looking for passionate individuals with a keen eye for detail to assist in an important investigation—helping us review and address historic unauthorised utilities installations across our canal network. As part of our ongoing efforts to protect the waterway environment and ensure the health of our canals, we are looking to review historic outfalls, pipes, and other service media, and ensure they are documented accordingly, protecting property rights and governing the quality of any discharges to our network.

What the Role Involves The task will mainly be from a desktop perspective, reviewing historic agreements, checking utilities terriers and identifying opportunities to be passed to the local surveyors to progress. This work will ensure we protect our property rights, whilst contributing towards the income generated from the utilities area.
