What You’ll Do:

  • Assist boaters in navigating through the lock – a role vital to keeping this tidal lock operational and safe.
  • Communicate with other locks along the waterway to coordinate boat movements.
  • Provide a warm and helpful presence to visitors and boaters alike.

Why Volunteer?

  • Gain experience working at a key tidal lock – no two days are the same.
  • Be outdoors, active, and part of a friendly team.
  • Learn valuable skills with full training and equipment provided.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Volunteers aged 18+, ideally local to Brentford.
  • A willingness to learn, reliability, and good communication skills.
  • Flexibility with shifts – the lock is tidal and operates 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week, with timings changing daily.
