Conservation Volunteer (Heritage survey)

We are looking for volunteers to help survey the whole of the Lancaster canal.

Volunteers will walk along the canal collecting information (eg location, name, date of construction, design engineer) and photographs of the historic structures to be found along the canal (eg bridges, locks, milestones, horse ramps etc). Volunteers will use a purpose made app installed on their own smart device to collect and upload the information to a central database. Some volunteers may wish to undertake further research about the structures, but this is by no means compulsory. Full training and support will be given.
