Conservator Volunteer (Great British Spring Clean)
The 'Great British Spring Clean' is a fantastic opportunity to get outside in the fresh air and help clean up your local community. We'll be tackling specific litter hotspots to give the area's a lift. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support. All under 16's need to be accompanied by an adult.
This is a great way to meet other local volunteers and spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
No experience is required, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket, warm layers) and sturdy footwear ideally boots or wellies. If possible, please sign up to let us know you plan on coming along.
Join us today to become a Conservator Volunteer and be part of the team keeping history alive by preserving our waterways. In this role you’ll get to experience the many faces and locations of our beautiful network and help maintain our structures and assets. Whether it’s working on pre-planned maintenance cutting back vegetation around aqueducts, or tackling graffiti in our more urban locations, our Conservators do a fantastic job of making sure there’s plenty of beauty on the doorstep. This is a great opportunity to make a huge difference in your community whilst learning more about the canals in your area.
