Towpath Team Volunteer (Banbury Towpath Taskforce)
Come and join Alex and Mike from 10:00-14:00 on the last Friday of each month to look after the canal in Banbury town. Taskforces are the backbone of volunteering on the canals, and we need people like you!
What?
Taskforces complete smaller tasks to improve the canal in their local area. From cutting back overgrowing hedges, to basic lock maintenance, to wildlife surveys, to small towpath repairs, to flower planting, to building and painting fences, to litter picking and weeding – volunteering in your taskforce runs a wide range of activities. Be a part of a team that improves the canal in your area, and make suggestions on what to do next!
Who?
We are looking for the sort of person who wants to make a difference. No skills are required, and with such a range of activities we accept people of all sorts of physical ability. The only requirement is that you definitely can’t be afraid to get a bit dirty.
Where and When?
The Banbury Taskforce covers from Hardwick Lock (28) to Grants Lock (30) and is monthly on the last Friday of each month. Our regular meeting point is Banbury Lock (29) by the Mill Arts Centre, but this can change month to month depending on the tasks.
