Towpath Team Volunteer (Litter pick Slough Arm Basin)
Come and join us on Sunday 22nd March 2026 between 10:00 and 14:00, for a satisfying day's volunteering. The meeting point will be at the basin of the Slough Arm, Stoke road, Slough SL2 5AU, - what3words: backup.boats.apples. There is some parking available at the basin, but it is limited. Slough train station is just over 10 minutes away. The main activity will be a litter pick along the towpath starting from the basin, and we also going to attempt removing the litter in the canal under the footbridge and Wexham road bridge. All tools, equipment and a hot drink will be provided, together with expert and friendly support. All under 16's need to be accompanied by an adult. This is a great way to meet other local volunteers and spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment. No experience is required, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket, warm layers) and sturdy footwear ideally boots or wellies. If possible, please sign up to let us know you plan on coming along.
